52 Project 2012 – Call The Firemen! I Give Up!

Have you heard the expression “too many irons in the fire”? According to UsingEnglish.com it is an old idiom meaning -juggling too many projects at once and something’s bound to fail. Such as when a black smith had too many irons in his fire, he couldn’t effectively keep track  of all of them.

Well that’s kind of how I feel some days, and right now with a couple of big Christmas projects in the works I think there are far too many irons in the fires around here.

So….

CALL THE FIREMEN!

I GIVE UP!

I started this year with the best intentions of completing another 52 project but right now…

something has got to go…

and because the 52 project is about the least important thing….

it has to go.

Ok; decision made. One less iron in the fire. Now to stop running around the state and get back to work!!

52 Project 2012 ~ Fifteen

I have been practicing with those crochet hooks again and have decided to create a huge set of crocheted Christmas ornaments. I would like to make enough to completely cover our tree with snowy white handmade decorations. I’m not sure if I will be able to accomplish this goal before Christmas or not; but I’ll give it a try!

So for my #15 photo I sat out an assortment of what I have completed so far…

15 crocheted Christmas ornaments including; 1 section of garland (about 5′ long), 2 icicles, 2 snowflakes, 1 pinecone, 1 snowman, 1 snow bird, 2 mini wreaths, 1 beaded puffy snowflake, 1 penguin, 1 polar bear, 1 fancy ornament, and 1 snowball.

I’m going to need a lot more of these!

Better late than never! Finally getting around to posting my #14 shot.

I guess our friend ChgoJohn over at The Bartolini Kitchens didn’t care much for the 13 spiders last week.

I do hope he likes this one a little better…

52 Project 2012 ~ Twelve

L and I have inherited a large set of crochet hooks so I have decided to try to re-learn how to crochet. So far I have successfully created a small pouch to hold a few of the hooks.

I tried to create a useful basket; however I confused a slip stitch with a single crochet and ended up with something more along the lines of a Barbie doll basket.

Yes; much more practice is needed.

…nine, ten, eleven…

I just couldn’t think of anything for the number eleven and then I saw this sheet of old stickers…

I told you that at some point I’d end up taking picutres of actual numbers!
