52 Project 2012 ~ X Is For . . .

There’s lots of excitement around here this weekend. We have taken a little road trip to visit L for her birthday; can you believe that she is now 20 years old!!!

Happy B-Day L!!! Love ya!!!

I think that Bella dog was as excited to see L as L was to see all of us; she’s the funniest dog when it comes to a road trip but her Dramamine dependence is a story for another day.

That silly dog found excitement in #7′s backyard when we got there. She spotted a squirrel up in a tree and spent the longest time circling the tree, jumping against the truck trying to get up to the fuzzy little guy, and bouncing around on her back legs while keeping an eye on it the whole time. I wish I had video for you but you’ll have to make do with these slightly fuzzy cell phone pics.

Oh; back to the letter of the week — X.

I’m cheating on this one and saying that X is for excitement!

Excitement; a feeling of great enthusiasm and eagerness; something that arouses such a feeling; and exciting incident.

I hope that all of you are having lots of happy excitement this weekend; as for me… I need to get back to the party it sounds like there’s a wild game of Taboo going on over there.

52 Project 2011 ~ Week 51

We had a snow storm this week but before it hit L and I spent a little time hiking along the river again. We both took almost the exact same photo of this old building! I’m not sure what the building was used for but because of its location I’d guess that at sometime it may have been an old mill.

I had some fun with this shot and followed my Mock HDR With Photoshop Elements 5.0 And Digital Photo Professional post from November to liven it up a bit.

I hope you are all enjoying the weather in your part of the world and that you have a great Christmas!!

and Even More Holiday Treats!

I said I’d share recipes as we cooked up some of our holiday treats and I have falling a bit behind; let’s catch up!

K made a big batch of one of his favorite treats the other day, Crunchie Munchies, you’ve got to keep these sticky crunchy things in the fridge! You can see them in this photo along with a pile of the Oyster Snack Crackers that L made.

While the kids were cooking up their favorites I made one of my favorite holiday treats, Party Cheeseball!

and just to prove that it’s still not all sweets and treats check out this recipe for the Slow Cook Pulled Pork Sliders that we had for supper the other night and I’ll go ahead and share our Holiday Ham recipe with you now. I’m sure I won’t have time to post that on Christmas day. :)

If you’re interested just follow the links to see our recipes!

More treats to come…..

It’s fudge making day! Oh, yum.
