Picture Of The Week – Winters Past

It was only 23 days ago that the ol’ groundhog said we were going to have an early spring…

HE LIED!!!

Crazy animal.

We did have a little melting going on over the weekend; not much but some. Before too much melting happened I went hiking around in nearly knee-deep snow to capture a few shots.

Maybe it’s not the groundhog who is crazy.

Winters Past

Winters Past

While I was walking in that deep snow I found this old truck looking like a scene from a winter long ago.

I’ve added a couple of new shots to the Ice & Snow in Black & White gallery over at KKHPhotos.com, along with a new one to the Snow gallery.

Now; here’s to hoping that the  next storm misses us. We are right on the edge of where it is supposed to stop.

Have a great day everyone!

  1. Bulldog; the groundhog is Punxsutawney Phil and he lives in Pennsylvania. Every year on February 2nd (Groundhog Day) during a ceremony he comes out and looks for his shadow if he sees it and heads back into his hole, he has predicted six more weeks of winter. If he does not see his shadow then he has predicted an early spring. It’s a tradition that has gone on for over 100 years and that dang groundhog has been wrong 61% of the time! Yes; sometimes we are a crazy lot over here. 😀 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punxsutawney_Phil
