Last weekend D and I had a bit of fun zoo-hopping. We headed down the highway on the way to Sunset Zoo and stopped at the tiny Clay Center zoo on the way.
Clay Center has a family of Japanese Macaques; aka Snow Monkeys.
We arrived there just as they were opening for the day so most of the animals were having their cages cleaned and were being served breakfast.
This Macaque was enjoying a crispy juicy apple and when we walked by he pressed his face against the bars of his cage. He didn’t make a lot of noise but the look on his face….
Kind of looks like he was saying “Hey you down there… open the door…let me out of here… these young monkeys are driving me nuts in here.”
When he realized we were not going to open his door he went back to munching on his apple.
