Well August in Kansas is usually hot so I knew whatever I shot for nature would be found in the shade. And sure enough it was!
While on a little road trip with #2, #4, #5, and #7 we came across a lovely scene. We stepped out of the cars and took just a few steps into an old cemetery when we all started saying, almost in unison, “look! it’s a fairy circle!”. Can’t tell we are related can you.
Well of course the cameras came out!
You gotta love it when a photo op just jumps in front of you like that!
June’s theme is, or rather was, Isolated Objects. Well now that’s something I do on a fairly regular basis. This is one of many product shots I’ve done for my little craft business. [I sell some of my crocheted creations and a few other little odds and ends.]
This bright blue dragon was pretty fun to make and as soon as his photo shoot was over he headed off to his new home. Now he is best friends with a little girl in another part of the state.
I can almost picture him riding around on her little shoulders; those whiskers blowing in the wind along with her hair.
The theme for July was Childhood. That worked out nicely as July came to an end with our local county fair. What better place to find those little ones having a good time!
This little guy was so happy with all the candies he picked up at the parade. Our little town is one of the few places left where kids can still run out into the street during a parade and catch candy that is being tossed out by the parade participants.
This year there were girls tossing stuffed animals off the back of a fire truck and folks walking miniature horses while tossing Frisbees to the crowd.
The theme for August? Nature.
So it’s back out into the heat for me! Maybe my nature photos this month will take place in the shade.
