A Blast From The Past – Swan Abstract

I was looking at some old images the other day and came across this one again.

Do you see the swan? So many people don’t see him until I point out his eye.

I met this guy in January of 2013 as he “guarded” his lion friend at the Brit Spaugh Zoo in Great Bend, Ks.  He was wondering up and down the walkway along side the lion’s enclosure and wouldn’t let me get to near. Every time I tried to get close to the lion this swan would snap at my ankles and bite my pant leg and monopod.  At one point he even held onto my pant leg and tried to pull me away!

I have nicknamed him “The Lion’s Guardian”. I wonder if he’s still hanging around there?

I’m home again from another weekend on the road; been out to see the kiddos and have a little fun the last couple of day.

Now that I am back it’s time to get back to work. I started off this morning by editing another image from our recent visit to Brit Spaugh Zoo in Great Bend, Kansas.

This big cat was enjoying an afternoon nap but looked up when he heard a sound that reminded him of the food cart. I managed to snap this shot while he was waiting to find out if someone was bringing him an extra serving of lunch.

He never did look directly towards the camera but at least you can see both of his big beautiful eyes!

I have also accomplished one other task this morning that has been on my to-do list for a while now. I finally go the RSS feed set up for this blog to feed over to KKHPhotos.com.

Now while visiting KKHPhotos.com you can click on the “Blog” link and read what’s new without ever leaving the site!

Whether you view the blog here or there; I hope you find something you enjoy and maybe even a few things you find useful.
